President Richard Nixon    1974�When White House tapes proved President Nixon had obstructed justice in the Watergate investigation, Nixon resigned. Shortly after assuming the presidency, Gerald Ford granted Nixon a pardon for all or any crimes committed while Nixon was president.

1977�In the first presidential radio talk show, 9 million people attempted to call President Carter. Only 40 got through. The Carter administration created the Department Of Energy, and called for voluntary cutbacks on energy use.
