1932�Although she�d already flown across the Atlantic with a team, Amelia Earhart made the first female transatlantic solo flight from Newfoundland to Ireland in 13 hours, 32 minutes. Earhart is the fourth from the right.

Charlie Chaplin    1933�Facing the worst depression in U.S. history, Franklin Roosevelt declared in his inaugural address that �the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.�

1936�Suffrage pioneer Susan B. Anthony�s portrait was featured on three cent U.S. stamp.
