Stevens Point Normal Domestic Science Overview
 oward the end of this decade the state Board made the decision to close
the home economics major at Stevens Point Teachers College, despite protests from Stevens Point. Continuing
lobbying by Bessie May Allen resulted in the home economics program being reinstated in 1940, after a two-year
hiatus.
