  1. This is the only Normal School in the state which has a special department for training Home Economics teachers.
  2. Graduates of this department are now teaching in normal schools, high schools, county training schools, and vocational schools. They are also employed as dieticians and demonstration agents.
  3. The graduates are receiving salaries up to $1,800 without any additional study in any other institution.
  4. The department has four cookery laboratories, three sewing rooms, a dietetics room, millinery room, kitchen, pantry, dining-room, reception room, and exhibit room.
  5. The Normal School kitchen has white walls, a white tile floor, and all possible conveniences.
  6. The millinery and sewing rooms have individual lockers, and exhibit cases for dresses and hats.
  7. One of the interesting features of the department is the practice cottages in which each girl spends nine weeks. These girls plan meals, do the cooking, and keep the cottage in order.
  8. Next year three and four year courses will be offered to the students.
