Coats with fur trim or made entirely of fur were popular choices for both men and women on campus. Raccoon fur coats were particularly popular with the college crowd for football games. Obsessive dieting was the result of fashions decree that girls should look boyish and the cigarette became a popular accessory for young women. Picture (150x316, 8Kb)

To have your hair bobbed meant to have it cut. Short hair was considered radical and college girls were among the first to embrace the style. The sailor style blouse had been popular for many years and in the early 1920s it was still worn by the young. These college women were radical in their hairstyles, but still conservative in dress. In Utah, a pending stature provided for the imprisonment of women whose skirts were higher than three inches above the ankle. College officials across the country believed that the youth revolt which was occurring was the sign of a serious moral crisis. Picture (150x263, 5.9Kb)
