This decade marks the transition for the college from a normal school to a four-year state teachers' college, changing the name from "Stevens Point Normal" to "Stevens Point Teachers College." In the transition, two teaching degrees were offered: rural education and home economics. The first students to receive bachelors degrees were from the home economics program: Mayme and Genevieve Cartmill from Plover.
