Giving Opportunities

Picture (26x22, 181 bytes)ifts to the UWSP Home Economics Centennial Endowment Campaign can be made in several ways. We encourage you to select the method or combination of methods that best suits your giving needs and philanthropic goals. Gifts to the Campaign qualify as charitable contributions and are fully tax deductible as provided for by law.

Outright Gifts:
Some donors will make their entire gift to the campaign at one time. These gifts can take the form of cash, checks, real estate, stocks or other securities or tangible assets. A gift of highly appreciated stock can provide the income tax benefit of eliminating the capital gains tax on the stock. Checks should be made out to the UWSP Foundation, Inc. and indicate that it is for the Home Economics Centennial Endowment.

Multi-year pledges:
By extending your pledge over a period of one, two or three years, you may be able to make a larger contribution to the endowment. Pledge payments can be deferred until a future year, can be made payable each year for a specified time period, or you may use another schedule that fits your needs.

Pooled Gifts:
Some donors may wish to pool their contribution to the Centennial fund by contacting members of their class, sorority, honor society, home management house class, or other group. By setting a gift goal, you can encourage others to make gifts or pledges and even challenge others to make contributions.

Matching Gifts:
Many corporations will match employees gifts to non-profit institutions like UWSP. You will need to complete some paperwork for your employer and send it along with your contribution.

Planned (deferred) Gifts:
Examples of planned gifts include bequests made in your will, naming UWSP as the beneficiary of all or part of a life insurance policy, a charitable trust, or charitable gift annuity. Some of these gifts will pay you an income for life while providing an immediate tax deduction.
