he Home Economics Centennial Campaign is a three year fund-raising effort to honor the historic
mission of home economics on this campus and to improve the measure of excellence of the programs descending from that historic
mission: Interior Architecture, Family and consumer Education and Dietetics and Nutritional Science. The earnings from the
endowment fund will be used to bring outstanding professionals to campus and to send out students to learn from outstanding
professionals in their work places.

The campaign began in 2001 with a "feasibility study" to determine the level of support and interest in
establishing such and endowment. Numerous alumni, faculty and fiends of the University were interviewed over a period of
several months. The campaign moved into the "quiet phase" in January of 2002. Critical to our ability to announce an
ambitious campaign goal will be securing early leadership gifts to the fund. Efforts to secure larger gifts will continue
throughout the summer of 2002. Contributions raised during this time will determine the goal of the campaign that will be
publicly announced at the Home Economics Centennial Celebration on September 21, 2002.

We are currently talking with our very best donors and friends, presenting them with the opportunity to
make a major difference in the lives of our students. The people we are talking with are among those who care deeply about
UWSP and our programs. They understand our vision for the future and know that it will take their generous support to make
this endowment a reality.
