Donna Zimmerman
With a master�s degree in Landscape Architecture, Donna Zimmerman joined the UWSP faculty in 2000 with interests
in museum/nature center design, lighting design, historic & cultural resource preservation, non-western &
cultural design, computer applications in design, green design, and photography. She has served as a consultant
and researcher for Keweenaw National Historical Park and made recent professional presentations at the National
Trust for Historic Preservation in Los Angeles, the World Congress on Environmental Design for the New
Millennium: World Conference on Cultural Design, Seoul, Korea and the Annual International Conference of the Comite
International d�Architecture Vernaculaire � ICOMOS. Montreal, Canada.

On April 7 at the 22nd Annual Jensen-Longenecker Awards Banquet in Madison, Donna Zimmerman, Interior
Architecture, received one of three awards for excellence in the study of landscape architecture given by the
American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). This award is given for outstanding graduate thesis in
Landscape Architecture. A team of ASLA members annually review graduate thesis and make selections for
recognition of graduate work.
She is affiliated with Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC), American Society of Landscape Architecture
(ASLA), Vernacular Architecture Forum (VAF), Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), Environmental Design
Research Association (EDRA), and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Donna enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures both internationally and around the U.S. She feels
strongly that these experiences enrich her life as well as her lectures. She also enjoys hiking, biking and
kayaking with her husband, Ron and shares her home with five cats and a border terrier named Tilly.
