Mark Nelson

    Architect Mark Nelson joined the faculty in 1999 after a 15-year career with architectural firms and in private practice, mostly in Chicago. His firms specialized in aviation, retail, office interiors. In his private practice he specialized in rehabilitation of low-income inner city multifamily housing.

Mark is also nationally known as an architectural illustrator, having won Awards for Excellence from the American Society of Architectural Perspectivists� International Illustration Competition. He also won the Cadalyst Magazine Award for Creative Excellence in Design Visualization in 1997. His works have been shown in juried exhibits in Reno, Chicago, Salt Lake City, and San Francisco in the past six years. His illustrations also appear in various issues of Architecture in Perspective , the Art of Architectural Illustration, and Digital Architecture.

With a undergraduate degree in music, Mark plays the guitar and performs in a trio with his wife and son.

Mark took a faculty position at UW Madison Fall 2002
