Jane Kangas

Jane Kangas joined our faculty in 2000, while continuing a private practice as a freelance designer and draftsperson. Most current projects include a remodel/addition for Bethlehem Lutheran church in Milan, WI and a new construction of a residence in Polonia, WI to be featured in this springs Parade of Homes. During her undergraduate experience at University of Wisconsin-Stout, she won best of design show in 1994 and graduated cum laude. Jane has taught a wide level of design courses here at UW-SP from freshmen fundamentals of color and design to senior portfolio and professional development. Her professional emphasis is in residential design and currently teaches the sophomore level residential planning courses and the sophomore computer-aided design and drafting course. Jane has also enjoyed serving as co-advisor to one of the Interior Architecture student organizations.

Jane Kangas

When school is not in session, Jane spends time at her rural home with her high school teacher husband and 2 young daughters. She enjoys the remodeling of their house, playing the piano, drawing, sewing, dancing, and working in the flower gardens. Jane is also involved at her church by serving on the committee for their recent building project and teaches the 4-year-old Sunday School class.

Jane finds that teaching students from the age range of 4 years through 20-something is very invigoratingand enlightening!
