Christina Burton

Christina has a rare combination of backgrounds: health care and design. Beginning her career as a registered nurse, she has now worked in the design field for almost twenty years. She has served in faculty design positions at Texas Tech University and the University of Texas before joining our faculty. In addition, she has maintained a private practice in the field from which she has worked on hospital design projects in Texas and Philadelphia. She has written on lighting factors in health care facilities and post-occupancy evaluation. Her Master of Fine Arts is from Northern Illinois University. Christina enjoys traveling, movies, photographing people and nature, walking the beach and snorkeling with fish. She notes: "We are living in one of the most exciting times and our decisions impact many aspects of work, play, and living spaces. As professionals, we are accountable to leave behind a better world and environment."
