Tom Brown

    An architect with interests in energy conservation and historic preservation, Tom Brown has 30 years of experience in the field. Able to speak Portuguese and Spanish, Tom spent four years in Mozambique, Africa working on a $30 million civil works project involving school construction and renovation. Tom has received a national award for energy-efficient construction methods. As owner and principal architect of a private firm, Tom brings many recent professional experiences to class. Tom�s architecture degree is from Catholic University, Washington, D.C.

Tom Brown

Tom�s architectural practice emphasizes environmentally-responsible design. One of his projects was selected by the National Association of Home Builders Research Center as the �best innovative/advanced residence in a cold-climate region,� receiving their Gold Energy Value 2000 Award. He is a founding member of the Energy & Environmental Building Association and the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance, and a frequent speaker at international and regional energy conferences. Tom enjoys international travel, photography, camping, cross-country skiing, canoeing, and sailing.
